*NEW 4TH JULY CLASS DATE AVAILABLE!* FAIRY TREEHOUSE WOODWORKING CAMP!

100.00

Due to popular demand, I’ve decided to run a second woodworking camp session on the WEDNESDAY 4th JULY 2018!!!! Spots are limited so book in early to avoid missing out. Thank you!!

Age Group : 7 to 12 years old ( Due to the tools we’ll be using, this workshop is strictly for older kids only. Sorry! )

This workshop is a full day camp and runs rom 10am to 3.30pm. You simply leave your child with me and come back at 3.30pm to pick them and their wonderful creations up! : ) And yes! WE’LL BE CREATING OUT VERY OWN FAIRY TREEHOUSES AND PEG FAIRIES!!!! Inspired by the beautiful German treehouses for kids, this workshop is all about letting children have fun working with wood! I’ll be covering simple woodworking skills such as hammering, sawing, sanding and gluing. We’ll even learn how to use the glue gun safely. It’ll be the perfect workshop for kids who simply love tinkering about and building their own knick knacks!

-----------------------------

Outline of the day:
10 am to 12 noon: Making of wooden treehouse.

This morning session will involve simple tools such as hammers, nails, sandpaper, glue and hand saws. But all will be supervised and all sawing, hammering will be done one on one so its safe and manageable for everyone.

12 noon to 1.30pm: Lunch + Play + pick up nature materials for the afternoon session

Just like in school, children to bring their own lunch boxes, drink bottles and sun hats. I will be walking with the children, to the nearby park on Gamon street. About 10 minutes slow walk. We will walk down O'Farrell Street and cross over to Gamon Street. We will be crossing one busier road. ( O'Farrell to Gamon. ) All other roads are all small, quiet residential roads ( almost no cars on these ones). Again, I will ensure the kids hold hands, cross roads with me so it’s all safe.

1.30 to 3.30pm: We'll be making little fairy peg dolls for our tree houses!

We'll also be adding more things ( furniture or fence, pond, etc ) to our little wooden treehouses if the children want to. It’s up to the children to design their very own treehouses!

So there you have it! : ) The treehouses will not be painted but they will be varnished and potentially decorated by the children, using natural nature bits. ( Stones, pebbles, bark, etc ).

The entire day workshop focuses mainly on the process of building and working with wood, more so than having an actual colourful, glittery painted treehouse. Think of a very Steiner-inspired, natural look!

JUST LIKE SCHOOL, PLEASE ENSURE YOUR CHILD HAS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

  • DRINK BOTTLE

  • SUN HAT

  • LUNCH PACKED IN A LUNCHBOX/BAG

All other materials, a healthy fruit snack and comfortable art smocks will be provided for the children.
