Marigold Sunshine Balm

from 12.00

As a soon-to-be mum, I’ve been on the lookout for something soothing and gentle of which I can use for everyday ‘oopsies’. Think dry skin, falls, cuts, and of course, the dreaded nappy rash!

I wanted something 100% natural, free from nasties and preservatives but couldn’t really find anything on the market that I liked. Lots of natural ones I found either smelled ‘funky’ or ended up looking a bit hippie with tons of ‘interesting’ ingredients with especially long names. I wanted simple and so I embarked on a journey to make my own!

Using calendula ( marigold ) petals infused in organic sweet almond oil along with 100% pure Victorian beeswax, this little jar of natural goodness will work a treat for a whole list of things not just for baby bums!

Calendula is known for it’s magical healing properties. Research has shown that this mighty floral helps to reduce inflammation while promoting wound healing!

Sweet almond oil is a natural skincare superhero - full of vitamin E, vitamin A, monosaturated fatty acids, protein, potassium, and zinc. It’s also super lightweight and lots of mamas and midwives especially love using it as a massage oil for babies.

Beeswax is known to offer anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral benefits making it helpful in treating skin irritations. Not only does it smell yummy, natural beeswax also forms a protective wall by sealing in moisture in our skin without clogging up pores!

I suggest trying this gentle balm on:

  • diaper rash

  • scrapes and scratches

  • razor burn and cuts

  • minor eczema ( Works a treat for me! )

  • dry heels, elbows and cuticles

  • blisters

  • bruises

  • mild burns

  • insect bites

*This balm is meant for applying onto skin only . Do not apply this balm onto cracked nipples if breastfeeding as beeswax/honey products cannot be ingested by babies under 1. Avoid using this as a lip balm too if possible as some adults can get allergic reactions/sore tummies when ingesting calendula-infused oils in large amounts. So better be safe!

*Balms might appear cracked when you receive them. But don’t worry - they work perfectly fine. It happens just because I’ve made them in the cold weather and the balm cools at differing temperatures. Just use as per normal and enjoy!
